Hello Tweegies!
We can now announce the bands and acts who will be playing at Gtwestival [drum roll]:
First up, and planning to play THREE Twestivals in one night, it’s the one, it’s the only…Epic 26! If you want to know what you’re in for, you can take a look at their site, or find them on Twitter and MySpace. After they’ve wowed us in Glasgow, they’ll be heading off to the Edinburgh and Dundee Twestivals.
And next up, for your listening pleasure, we’re thrilled to announce that 100 Paper Boats will be playing! You can find them on both Twitter and Facebook.
And now, for your aural entertainment, heeeeeeerrrrrreeee’s Kessel! Check them out on their site, or on Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.
And let’s have a big hand for our DJ of the evening, it’s David Johnstone - or perhaps you know him better as one half of Alternative. You can follow him on Twitter. And he’s also on Facebook and MySpace.
And for the quiet bits in between all of that, we’ve started a Spotify playlist where you can line up the tracks you’d like to hear. So add your requests now!

Many companies have been fantastically generous and donated prizes that you’ll be able to win in the raffle.
Here are a few of the prizes that will be up for grabs…
And did we mention that there’s an iPad up for grabs in the auction?!
We’ll announce more prizes as they come in….

We’ll be announcing the lineup for the night at some point on Monday, but until then, we thought we’d share something just a little bit special with you: a Spotify playlist.
We’ve decided this time around to have a limited number of live acts - this will allow people to mingle and actually hold real-life conversations with people they’ve met through Twitter. So, rather than have no music at all, or a selection of music picked by us, we’ve decided to open it up to you. Would you like to hear some @pink, or would you prefer some @iamdiddy? It’s (almost) completely up to you. We’ll keep an eye on it to ensure that nothing too sweary gets played, but we’ll keep not interfere too much (unless you pick The Cheeky Girls!).
To contribute, all you need to do is:

Under the guise of the Smooth Tweetin’ Bar Stewards, iomart Hosting, headline sponsors of both the London and Glasgow Twestivals are giving Tweeps who attend both events the chance to get fresh and fruity. The company is providing a full blown smoothie bar at the London Twestival (Cable Club) and is offering a Twestival Fruit punch for revellers at the Glasgow Event (Lansdowne Bar & Kitchen).
The five Hosting themed smoothies on offer in London include the On Demand Orange, Cool Cranberry Cloud, Berry Burstin’ Bandwidth, Hot Hosting Hootch & the iSoothie (made with Apple naturally).
Party goers at both events will be able to get their fresh and fruity drink of choice – totally gratis - by simply tweeting their order to @iomarthosting during the event. A team of iomart Hosting Bar Stewards will be on hand at each venue – suitably adorned in their Bar Steward T Shirt – to dispense both the drink and some Twestival goodwill.
But that’s not all, the guys at iomart Hosting have produced a limited run of their T Shirts and have 40 available for both venues. If you’d like to really get into the fresh and fruity spirit and want to help our charity Concern at the same time. This is what you need to do:
Visit http://www.iomarthosting.com/twestival and complete the simple form and offer more than a £5 minimum donation and the shirt will be handed to you on the night in exchange for the donation you have offered. EVERY PENNY donated will be handed over to the London & Glasgow Twestival organisers on the night and donated to Concern. But be quick – this is first come first served. First 80 orders received and that’s it!!!
Finally, iomart Hosting is demonstrating its involvement with both events together by attempting the Twestival Traffic Cone Trek. iomart Hosting’s Marketing bod Phil will attend BOTH events on the same night (Flight delays/cancellations/body searches permitting).
Phil will bring messages of support from the @LDNtwestival Party to the @GTwestival venue, hand signed on a Traffic Cone – Glasgow’s unofficial iconic Logo and the official @GTwestival one!
You will be able to follow the Cone’s adventures (or lack of) and journey on the night via twitter #LGTcone

The lovely folks over at Alienation Digital truly are awesome. Why? Well, they’ve just sorted us out with our main auction item. They’ve given us one of these:
That’s right. It’s an iPad.
It’s one of the most sought-after pieces of tech of 2010, and you can have a shot at owning it. There’s only one catch: you have to come to the Glasgow Twestival. We won’t be taking phone bids, we won’t be taking email or web bids, we’ll only be taking bids in person. So you will have to buy a ticket.
Get your Twestival ticket here to be eligible to bid on this stunning prize. Then you can give it to us!
